Set Designer, Buyer (#Findthegirl)
Thirteen brought the story of Ivy Moxam, who went missing at the age of 13, only to escape her capturer 13 years later. The set gloomy atmosphere with hero props and set dressing were created to fit the tone. Sometimes it was made for the father who was a heavy drinker, or the sister who was getting married. The items had to look realistic while being created quickly.
I then was asked to work as Set Designer, and Buyer on a side project to Thirteen. Please see below for the work on #Findthegirl.
I was requested to be creative lead for the #Findthegirl. The online interactive companion piece to Thirteen. The vlog followed a young troubled reporter, Sarah Hays, as she tries to solve the mystery before the police, but ends up creating more chaos than help. On a small budget and timescale, I produced four sets with 2 crime scenes, a student residence, and an evolving bedroom of a girl obsessed. The try-hard computer hacker fanatic struggled under the pressure as the state of her room reflected the tumbling of her mind. Shot from the perspective and with a lens of a novice handheld device the look and feel was much less stylised and more realistic than Thirteen.
